Human Empowerment and
Development Organization – (HEDO) is a local non-governmental Organization, established
in 15th May, 2016 in Somalia. HEDO`s main thrust is to create
an environment of socialization and cultural understanding, equitable
distribution of wealth and mutual help, social justice, Peace, love and
humanity. HEDO also aims securing rights of the poor and
marginalized, good governance, sustainable livelihood development through
promoting people’s participation at all levels of the state and society,
accountability, capacity development and access to resources. According to the
organization’s policy, special emphasis is given on women’s participation and
in building poor people’s capacity towards disaster risk reduction and climate
resilience. Networking at various levels and policy advocacy are the important
areas of HEDO`s program implementation approach.
HEDO also undertakes
awareness raising and community mobilization on protection issues on human
rights particularly gender and child protection, and development through action
researches assessment, and surveys on community priorities needs.
HEDO is managed by
independent professionals whom have been experiencing practically &
technically on various fields of capacity buildings on humanitarian sectors
include Governance, protection and community development project.
